My Latest Facebook Friend Wannabe: Taygun Kuşçu!

Recently I mentioned an interesting Facebook phenomenon, wherein I receive "friend" requests from totally unknown men from far-off lands who CLAIM to be interested in women, but whose friends are all transsexuals with their legs prominently on display.

I present a typical character, Taygun Kuşçu.

I certainly don't begrudge a fetishy person looking for sex -- we all have our quirks, and I'm the one wearing tights after all -- but it's the "interested in women" thing that continues to baffle me. And I don't feel bad posting this guy's profile because he has tried to contact me based on the most tenuous information. Also his hair is unpleasant.

Plus I wonder if these guys are actually looking at using their "relations" to migrate to US/Canada/rich white country.

It might be worth making a note here that I don't think Facebook has a "Interested in: Men-dressed-as-women" option. ;)

Personally, I think it is more respectful to treat "men-dressed-as-women" AS women, so that's probably the best option they could think of.

Feel free to correct me if my belief is skewed. :)

I do see your point, Raven...given the two choices they might certainly choose the one that seems more respectful or flattering.

I am mainly, however, going from my personal experience with this particular type of man who becomes fixated upon me in a bar; they insist that they aren't interested in men, and then they sniff after me in an obnoxious way that those who DO admit it rarely do.

This, coupled with my own thoughts about Facebook ("Thou shalt not trawl lists of friends in search of cybersex partners") makes me think the worst things about Taygun and his ilk: repressed, deluded, annoying, easy to dismiss.

But I DO need to keep your points in mind!

Most men who are sexually attracted to transsexuals (whether pre-op, post-op, or non-op) see themselves as straight or, at most, bi. And it wouldn't be much of a stretch to extend this to tranvestites or even cross-dressers if they are moderately "passable".

Although attracted to male genitalia they are generally not attracted to the male 'form'. So they wouldn't feel drawn to an attractive 'man' but would feel drawn to an attractive 'woman' who happened to have a penis.

It is a lot more common than you might suspect. In fact, makers of pornography are well aware that many (most?) men are attracted to male genitalia regardless of their (stated) sexual orientation - it`s the reason they try to use `ìmpressive` male genitalia even in productions aimed at a strictly heterosexual audience.

Muffy, think of the positive side - you will start looking forward to your mail again!

Hmm, this really is a complicated topic. Please don't forget that sexual cues like everything is something we acquire from society. The ONLY visible gays in the old world(eg Thai Kathoey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathoey) ARE the classical transgender sissies.

So someone attracted to a "sissy" need not necessarily consider himself being "like" the the "sissy".

Plus in the old world, there was no shortage of rich men "keeping" young male lovers and being happily married at the same time. :)

Lovely phrase there that summarizes what poor Taygun is actually looking for - "a second kind of woman". :)

There is a definite "old world" trend to these people -- both in bars and on Facebook. Most are Spanish or are from the Middle East.

I've heard this described as a facet of "Trade." The Wikipedia page mentions two of the issues: that the straight partner maintain his masculine identity (and therefore not be the bottom) and, more oddly, how the straight man can be straight if he's having sex with other men.

I have heard it said that old world attitudes regarding trade tend to specify that a man CAN be straight if he's having sex with other men, as long as he is clearly "the top." But I haven't looked into it all that closely, I just know that there's something odd going on.

Anonymous, I completely missed your post until now!

Oh, I'm not surprised at how common it is. I think it's high time somebody wrote a book about "gynandrogynophiles." It would certainly clear up a lot of things for me! (Such as "what do you WANT from me," "what do you realistically think you'll GET from me," and "what is your OWN self-conception?")

Thanks for the insight!

Taygun Kuşçu was seen at Reubens last night LITERALLY CRAMMING Hünkar Beğendi into his PIEHOLE with an unknown transvestite friend. Lucky for him, the dish consists of the puree of grilled aubergine with cashar cheese topped with cubed lamb meat

What I love is that fact that I know 2 of the drag queens listed in his friends profile that was posted...lol. Both are past Empresses in the Imperial Court System!

That's why I hid the "Mutual Friends" section in the screenshot, Morgan...I didn't want to out you as Taygun's secret sex slave!

One of them, at least...

"gynandrogynophiles"

Congratulations, you have successfully coined a word. A Google search on the above reveals only one other reference (which happens to also be posted by you.)

So far, I'd say you're the front running candidate for writing that book.

At least now I have a title for it. :)

I'd love to take credit for the word -- it is what it is, though dismayingly medical -- but I SWEAR I didn't make it up. I certainly started using it shortly after university, so I bet I heard it in a women's studies or gender studies class, or maybe from one of the slightly political crossdressers I new at the time.

It amazes me that the word does not turn up hits...I keep thinking it must be spelled wrong, but nope, that's the way it would be spelled...a mystery!
