Yes, way back in 1928 you could join a "jolly band of Pleasure Pirates" for a tropical cruise. Pardon me if this doesn't sound (and look) just a tad "of the other."
I thought this was all a touch queer even BEFORE I read the line about the "shouts of gay buccaneers."

How did that one make it past the Hayes office... you know there was some tittering on the set that day....
I don't believe that Hayes had much power in 1928. The New Yorker magazines have so far made mention of his Hollywood shenanigans, but there is as yet no "code."
